Electromagnetic flowmeter is a kind of inductional instrument designed by Faraday’s law of eletromagnetic induction to measure inner-tube conductive medium’s flow of volume. It adopts the technology of insertion of single chip to realise digital excitation and employs CAN on-the-spot main line. It is the first invention of China and its technology amounts to the leading level at home.
Electromagnetic flowmeter can realise site indication and output electric current signal of 4-20mA which can be used to record, regulate and control. Now electromagnetic flowmeters are widely used in industry technological and administrative sectors such as chemical industry, environmental protection, metallurgy, pharmaceutical, paper making ,water supply and removal etc.Besides measuring the flow rate of general conductive liquid electromagnetic flowmeter can measure the flow of volume of liquid-solid mixed fluid, high-viscosity fluid and salt, strong acid and strong alkali.

Type Selection
Definition of Span Range
Generally for electromagnetic flowmeters used in industry the flow velocity of measured medium should be between 2~ 4m/s. Under special conditions the lowest flow rate should be not less than 0.1m/s, and the highest should be not more than 8m/s. If the mdium includes solid granules, the usual flow rate should be less than 3m/s to prevent the liner and electrodes from excessively rubbing . To those viscous liquid, the flow rate should be more than 2m/s.The bigger flow rate is conducive to automatically eliminating the role of viscid substances which are apposed on the electrodes and advancing the accuracy of the measurement. Under the condition that the span Q is defined ,the size of caliber D of flowmeters can be decided according to the above flow rate V, and the ＆#118alue is counted according to the following equation:
Q=πD²V/4
Q : flow rate(m3/h) D : Inside Caliber of pipe (m) V : flow velocity(m/h) Span Q of electromagnetic flowmeters should be more than the anticipated highest ＆#118alue of flow rate. While the normal ＆#118alue of flow rate should be slightly more than 50% of the full scale of the span of flowmeters.
